PC maker Gateway Inc. said its new line of notebooks, desktop personal computers and monitors aimed at retail markets will be available at Micro Center's 20 stores in the United States.

The announcement is the latest in a string by Gateway, which is aiming to return to profitability by broadening distribution at retails stores after having bought rival eMachines earlier this year and closing its 188 stores.

Southern California-based Gateway said that its 4520GZ and 4525GZ notebooks are available at the Micro Center stores as well as on the company's Web site. Gateway's newest desktop PCs, the 550GR and 500GR, high-end entertainment and digital music PCs, are also available under the agreement.

Gateway has already said its PCs would be widely available at Office Depot, CompUSA Inc. and Best Buy stores.
