Hitachi Ltd., Matsushita Electric. and Toshiba Corp., will announce plans to jointly manufacture LCD display panels.

The three companies will disclose details of their joint production agreement at a news conference in Tokyo scheduled for Tuesday afternoon local time, said a spokesman for Matsushita.

The total investment will be around ¥100 billion (US$913 million) to construct a LCD manufacturing plant in Chiba prefecture, near Tokyo, a news source said.
