High-speed serial interface chip startup MagnaLynx Inc. (Ames, Iowa) has raised $1 million in its initial round of venture funding, which was led by Perkins Capital Management.
The company has also added new employees to its management team.
Established in 2003, MagnaLynx is concentrating on semiconductor Serial Memory and other specialized serial technology applications.
The company plans to introduce its MagnaPHY family of products to the IC market during 2004.
In addition to the funding, MagnaLynx also added Richard C. Perkins, vice president of Perkins Capital Management to its Board of Directors.
MagnaLynx also recently appointed John Stafford as its vice president of marketing. Stafford has a background in telecommunications and data communications garnered during more than 18 years with NEC America.
