Telecomm industry pushing towards life video

During the last show of Taipei International Telecommunications and Networking Show two weeks ago, one of the top telecommunication firms, Far EasTone (FET), preparing to launch its wireless Video Call service before end of this year. Aaron Pan, FET¡¯s product manager said the local business will likely enjoy extensive growth as the service would bring love ones closer to home when away for business trip.
 
Beside the video projection on the screen, other real-time access including news, traffic updates, and television shows via Video Call. "Even as we speak, we are already preparing enhanced services next year," he said. "For instance, we would likely be adding a video call mailbox into our 2005 product offering," Pan said.
 
To counter offer of FET, Chunghwa Telecom had Live TV and company¡¯s spokesperson Alex Huang said: "With this service, you could access live news or TV programs via your cellphone." The service fees for Live TV would be reasonable as they want to keep it low so encourage user to sign-up. "We don't expect everyone to sign up for Live TV right away, "but we are confident that it will eventually become popular." Huang said. Chunghwa Telecom schedule to launch Live TV schedule on the first quarter of 2005.
