PalmOne Inc. reported a quarterly profit compared to a loss a year ago on a 62 percent jump in revenue, spurred by solid sales of its Treo 600 mobile phone and other handheld digital devices.
The results, which beat analysts' expectations, come with net income of $19.6 million, or 38 cents a share, in the period ended in August, compared with a net loss of $21.7 million, or 74 cents a share, a year ago.
Excluding special items, the company posted a profit of 43 cents a share.
