VIA Technologies saw its revenues decline 2.2% sequentially to NT$1.88 billion in September, according to a company news release. This represents a decline of 8.2% compared to the same period a year earlier.
VIA’s third-quarter revenues of NT$5.63 billion were up 27% sequentially, and much better than the 20% growth the company had projected.VIA’s ASP (average selling price) and gross margins are likely to improve in the fourth quarter since the company is expected to start volume shipments of its K8 PCIe-enabled chipset, the K8T890, in the latter half of this month.
