Winbond plans to allocate 44% of its 8-inch capacity to production of commodity DRAM for Infineon in the fourth quarter, compared to 13% in the third quarter. The company will also double its monthly shipments to Infineon to 7,000 wafers, the company said in a press statement.

Infineon said it will cut the output of DRAM and PSRAM after its disappointing sales to allocate the production to DRAM.

Meanwhile, Winbond plans to increase its 2005 capex to NT$20 billion, compared to less than NT$4 billion in 2004, Winbond said .
