iSuppli forecasts semiconductor sales will grow slightly, or 9.6 percent, in 2005 as oppose to zero growth as other analysts projected.
The company back its growth forecast with its projection that memory sales will not decline as much as other analysts have predicted.
"The memory suppliers don't have to flood the market anymore," said the company. "In the past, memory suppliers would keep the lines running, now they can reallocate production capacity."
iSuppli is also sticking to its earlier forecast calling for 2004 chip sales to grow 25.5 percent over 2004, which is less than the 28.5 percent projected by other analysts.
