Samsung Electronics said it would introduce to markets the world's lightest laptop computer, the "Sense Q30." Equipped with a 12.1-inch screen, the Sense Q30 weighs 1.08kg, the lightest among products of its kind.
The product, which uses a normal notebook-use 18.5-mm-spaced keyboard, can read five different flash memory cards commonly used for digital cameras and camcorders, including Compact Flash (CF) card and Memory Stick, without separate equipment. It also comes with an onboard 3D sound hardware chip and stereo speakers.
Adopting low-electricity technology, this product can go for a maximum of 3 hours and 30 minutes with one battery, and seven hours if used with a high-capacity battery. Its No-Fan technology drastically reduces cooling fan noise.
Samsung said. “By marketing this product, we will strengthen the brand image of our light laptop computers and actively target the sub-notebook market currently dominated by Japanese companies,” and added, “Through this, we plan to further strengthen our position as the leading firm in the Korean laptop market, a position we’ve held for the last 10 years.”
The Sense Q30 has an Intel Centrino 733 Processor (1.1GHHz)/256MB DDR memory/40GB Hard disk driver/802.11g cordless LAN/external modem RW combo drive. The consumer price of the product in W2,800,000, and with 512 MB memory, W3,100,000.
