Fujitsu Microelectronics introduced a 1-megabit FRAM for use in a range of next-generation applications.
Fujitsu's two 1-Mbit FRAM devices -- the MB85R1001 (x8 bits) and the MB85R1002 (x16 bits) -- have been built using the latest 0.35-micron cell technology.
The 1-Mbit FRAM is available now. The devices are housed in TSOP48 and FBGA48 packages. Sample pricing for the MB85R1001 and MB85R1001 begins at $19 each in 1,000-piece units.
Earlier this year, Ramtron International rolled out what the company claims is the world's first 1-Mbit FRAM. Based on 0.35-micron process technology, the 1-Mbit FRAM from Ramtron comes in a 128-Kbit x 8 organization and features a 55-nm access time. The device is manufactured by Ramtron's foundry partner--Japan's Fujitsu
