ProMOS Technologies is now conducting pilot runs of its own-brand DDR2 chips, with volume production scheduled for the third quarter of 2005, according to company.
The pilot production of 677MHz and 800MHz 256Mbit chips were built at its 8-inch fab while the 400MHz and 533MHz 512Mbit chips at its 12-inch fab, the company said.
A company source said DDR2 is expected to account for 40-50% of the firm¡¦s total capacity in the third quarter of 2005, and the figure could reach 60% in the fourth quarter.
