Intel Corp. said it was reorganizing and forming three groups to lead its efforts in platforms for mobility, the digital enterprise and digital home. On top of that, Intel also creates two new organizations to address opportunities in digital healthcare and in serving its distribution channel.
The new business units include mobility, to develop platforms for notebook PCs, handheld computing and communications devices; digital enterprise, to develop computing and communications infrastructure platforms; digital home, to develop computing and communications platforms for use by consumers; digital health, to develop products and explore opportunities in healthcare research, diagnostics and productivity, and personal healthcare, and channel products, to combine existing groups focused on developing and selling Intel products.
Intel also said that Jason Chen, vice president and director, sales and marketing group, plans to leave at the end of January to attend full time to a family health matter.
