Two executives with Hynix Semiconductor Inc. were indicted on Jan. 25, on charges of bribery, according to the Yonhap website which cited un-named prosecutors of the cases as sources.
A 51-year-old executive vice president, with the surname Nam but otherwise not identified, was arrested on suspicion of buying 800 shares worth 70 million won ($67,410) in 2000 from a Hynix subcontractor at a below-market price of 30 million won, the report quoted the prosecutors as saying. In return, the executive allegedly said he would help the subcontractor secure a contract, the report said.
