ULi, the Taiwanese chipset company, aimed to begin manufacturing its first product with dual-channel DDR2 memory support at year-end, the source familiar with the company said. ULi also unveils a new all-in-one chip solution, to be in production in second quarter, for AMD K8 processors.
The news source from Taiwan said that ULi’s M1691 chipset will be the first dual-channel DDR2 northbridge to support both Pentium 4 and Pentium M processors.
The all-in-one solution, the M1697 chipset is designed to integrate many features including legacy interface parallel ATA as well as new prospective technologies such as SATA II and High-Definition Audio, the source said. The M1697 will support all AMD K8 processors, including the recently announced Turion 64, according to the company.
