Intel this week launched a series of new Pentiums that double the amount of cache memory.
The four new chips are part of the Pentium 600 series, and feature 2MB of secondary cache. All four, which range in clock speed from 3.0GHz to 3.60GHz, sport an 800MHz front-side bus, and include Intel's SpeedStep Technology, a power-saving feature supported by Windows XP SP2 and already used in some notebooks.
Prices range from $224 per processor (in 1,000-unit lots) for the 3.0GHz P$ 630 to $605 each for the 3.60GHz P4 660.
