Advantest is expected to roll out a new line of tester for testing DDR2 memory by year-end, sources familiar with the company said.
This new testers will increase the capacity to test twice as many DDR2 chips than two of its DDR2 testers currently available in the market, the T5585 and T5593. The doubled capacity should reduce test costs for chipmakers, the sources indicated.
Prices for the equipment are not yet available. Meanwhile Advantest declined to confirm the news.
