VIA Technologies recorded revenues of NT$1.03 billion in February, down 33.4% on-month and 37.1% on year.
Revenues were down due to a reduced number of workdays, with the week-long Lunar Chinese New Year holiday taking place in February, company sources explained.
However, the on-month decline was greater than expected, with market sources saying that the company has not been able to deliver its PCIe-enabled core-logic chipsets for Pentium 4 CPUs in volume.
VIA said that it plans to start volume shipments of three versions of Pentium 4-compatible chipsets, the PT880 Pro, PT894 and PT894 Pro, by the end of March.
