Prices for DDR2 testing may rise 20% next quarter amid strong demand for the segment, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News.
In addition, Powertech Technology has already increased its DDR2 testing prices to NT$15,000-18,000 per hour, up from about NT$13,000, D.K. Tsai, chairman and CEO of Powertech, was quoted by the paper as saying.
The company will also increase its number of T5593 testers for DDR2 chips from its current 14 units to 30 by year-end. Powertech has raised it monthly DDR2 testing capacity to 60 million units, the paper said.
