IBM and Lenovo Group of China said Wednesday they have won clearance from a national security oversight committee for Lenovo to acquire IBM's personal computer business.
An IBM executive said the high-level U.S. committee had given the deal its unanimous consent. This final external approval clear the way for the $1.25 billion PC acquisition and the closing could be completed as early as second quarter which falls witihn the schedule as originally planned.
