Samsung has lowered prices for its 512MB DDR2-533 modules by as much as 20% to about US$52 from last month's high of US65, according to IC distributors.
Prices for 512Mbit DDR2-533 chip in the spot market remain at US$8 each amid Samsung¡¦s cut in contract prices for PC OEMs, the distributors said.
The pace of migration to DDR2 will largely depend on if there is sufficient supply of Intel chipsets and CPUs supporting the DDR2-533 memory, some PC OEMs said.
