Placing high hopes on the Asia Pacific region, Infineon Technologies Asia Pte Ltd. this week opened its Asia Pacific headquarters building in Singapore's Kallang sector.
As Asia's demand grows, Infineon expects its Singapore HQ to be responsible for more than one-third of its global revenues.
"The opening of the new Asia Pacific Headquarters building marks a significant milestone for Infineon," said Wolfgang Ziebart, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG, in a statement. "Currently, Asia Pacific contributes over one-third of Infineon's revenue. With Asia on its continued path as one of the strongest growth engines for the semiconductor industry, Infineon is poised for further growth."
The two 10-storey towers house Infineon's regional headquarters functions in the Asia Pacific, including production, logistics, sales and marketing and R&D. Besides having an IC design center, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific is also the global testing hub for the company's logic IC products.
Infineon's presence in Singapore started in 1970 and has grown to a total staff of approximately 2,350. The Munich, Germany-based company has invested a total of $603 million (1 billion Singapore dollars) since its establishment in the region.
