Wolfgang Ziebart, chief executive of German chip maker Infineon Technologies AG, said he has no plans to break up the company by spinning off its memory chip (DRAM) or communications semiconductor operations in an interview due to appear in Manager Magazine, according to reports online.
"The measures that outsiders recommend are not appropriate," Ziebart is quoted to have said in an interview scheduled to appear in a forthcoming edition, according to an AFX newswire report carried on Forbes website.
The spin-off denial contradicts a previous report in Handelsblatt which said Infineon was mulling an IPO of the DRAM unit later in 2005, the AFX report said.
