Tokyo-based Elpida Memory Inc. reported today one of its executive officers, Yoshitaka Kinoshita, has been appointed to the board of directors for Powertech Technology Inc., based in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Powertech was founded in 1997 to focus on assembly and testing services, and has 1,400 employees in its Hsinpu and Hukou, Taiwan manufacturing facilities.
Elpida said it has been outsourcing its back-end process for DRAM manufacturing to PTI and this appointment is seen by the companies as an enhancement to the partnership.
Kinoshita is executive officer for Elpida’s server and PC division.
