Teradyne Inc. reported sales of $320.2 million in the second quarter of 2005, up 5 percent compared to the first quarter of 2005.
The automatic test equipment (ATE) company had a net loss in the second quarter of $45.5 million, or $0.23 per share, which included $10.2 million in net restructuring and other charges.
This compares to a net loss of $52.6 million, or $0.27 per share, in the previous quarter, which included $10.6 million in net restructuring and other charges.
The company's orders for the second quarter were $349 million, up 2 percent over the first quarter.
In the third quarter, the company's guidance is for sales to be between $350 and $370 million, with a loss per share between $0.08 and $0.15. This guidance includes approximately $17 million, or $0.09 per share, in net restructuring and other charges.
