Kingsmax expects mass adoption of DDR2 memory to happen in the second half of the year and consolidation in the DRAM-module industry will speed up, according to a source in Taiwan.
Kingsmax said the DRAM shift from TSOP to BGA package will befinit the company since it already has the BGA technology in place including equipment for testing and packaging DDR2 DRAM.
DDR2 accounted for about 8% of Kingmax’ DRAM-module shipments in the second quarter of this year and the segment is expected to contribute 12–15% to the company’s sales this quarter and 20% by year end, the compnay said.
