To jumpstart the design efforts in Austin, San Diego, Calif.-based pure-play, full-service IC design services supplier QuantumThink Group Inc. (QThink) said today announced it has opened a design center in Austin, Texas.
This center will include the full spectrum of front-to-back design services that QThink offers at its other design centers, and is being staffed with experienced sales and design personnel.
QThink has complemented its existing Austin-based sales presence with a senior design and program management resource that has relocated from QThink's headquarters in San Diego. QThink is further growing its design presence in Austin by tapping into the extensive pool of engineering talent in the region.
The company recently opened design centers in San Jose, Calif. and Bangalore, India.
The opening of the Austin facility continues the company’s growth strategy to expand its market leadership and customer base, while increasing service levels and options to our customers
Akbar Shokouhi, CEO of QThink said in a statement, “We have transferred our proven processes and methodologies currently used at our headquarters and have hired some very talented engineers to execute on QThink’s entire service offering from concept/specification to GDSII.”
QThink said it has completed nearly 200 complex design projects in leading-edge technologies, including 8 current and completed projects in 90nm, and 35 130nm projects with TSMC, UMC, Chartered, and IBM foundries.
