LG.Philips today reported sales for its Q3 ended September 30 increased 46 percent to $2.6 billion (2.7 trillion Korean won) from $1.8 billion (1.9 trillion won) in the same quarter last year, and were up 19 percent sequentially from $2.2 billion (2.3 trillion won) in Q2. The sales improvement were largely led by the growing demand for large and wide LCD TV panels, along with a stronger pricing environment for notebook panels.
Operating profit in Q3 increased to $230 million (240 billion won) from $28 million (29 billion won) in Q2, and down from operating profit of $246 million (256 billion won) in Q3 2004.
LG.Philips¡¦ Q3 net income increased to $218 million (227 billion won) from $39 million (41 billion won) in Q2, and compared to a net profit of $279 million (291 billion won) in Q3 2004.
