Amid a slight lull in the IC-test business, Japan’s Advantest Corp. reported sales of 107 billion yen ($923.2 million) in the first half of fiscal 2005, down 26.9 percent from the like period a year ago.
The automatic test equipment (ATE) maker said profits were 14.6 billion yen ($125.9 million) in the period, down 47.5 percent from a year ago. Orders were 121.6 billion yen ($108.7 million), down 2.9 percent.
For the year, Advantest, the world’s largest ATE provider, projects sales will hit 240 billion yen ($2.07 billion), up 0.2 percent from last year. Profits for the year are expected to hit 61 billion yen ($526.4 million), down 2.8 percent.
