Intel is scheduled to introduce several new processors between the fourth quarter of 2005 and the first quarter of 2006 with the chip giant also expected to release new prices for all of its processors early next year, according to motherboard makers.
The Pentium 4 672 and 662, both which support virtualization technology, is to be introduced on November 13, and the Celeron D 355, which promises a boost in clock speed for the Celeron series, will be introduced on December 25, indicated the makers, who added that Intel will also be introducing a series of 65nm processors for desktop PCs and notebooks.
Unit prices for Intel’s Pentium 4 672 and 662 will be similar to the current prices for its Pentium 4 660 and 670, which are priced at US$605 and US$401, respectively, the makers noted. The Celeron D 355 series will be priced at US$127, the makers said. Prices for all of the Intel Celeron D processors are scheduled to be marked down in January 2006, when Intel will debut its new CPUs built using the 65nm process, the makers indicated
