PMC-Sierra Inc. said it agreed to buy Agilent Technologies Inc.'s storage semiconductor business for $425 million in cash.
The storage unit, I/O Solutions Division, is part of Agilent Semiconductor Products Group.
The acquisition is expected to immediately boost earnings per share when completed, PMC-Sierra said.
The unit has about 240 employees and design centers located in California at Santa Clara and Roseville, and in Singapore.
