After introducing its 80nm DDR2-800 memory during June of 2005, Elpida Memory today announced it is shipping 80nm made 2Gbit DDR2 SDRAM samples. These samples are shipped for customer evaluation, and the devices are expected to be used initially in high-density memory modules for high performance servers.
The 2Gbit DDR2 is manufactured at Elpida’s 12-inch fab (E300) at Hiroshima, Japan. The memory is available in three different data rate speeds: 533Mbps, 667Mbps and 800Mbps. The supply voltage (VDD) is 1.8V+/-0.1V and the memory is packed under a 68-ball FBGA package.
