Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing today announced its revenues for Q4 ended December 31, 2005 of $367.2 million, up 92.7 percent from $190.6 million in Q4 2004 and up 26.6 percent sequentially from $290.1 million in Q3.
Revenues including Chartered’s share of Silicon Manufacturing Partners, Chartered’s minority owned joint venture company were $399.4 million, up 95.1 percent from $204.7 million in Q4 2004, with the largest dollar increase coming from the consumer sector, followed by the computer and communications sectors. Revenues including Chartered’s share of SMP were up 26.2 percent from $316.5 million in Q3 2005 primarily due to significant growth in the consumer sector followed by the computer sector, partially offset by a decline in the communications sector.
Q4 net income was $26.5 million, compared to a net loss of $26.8 million in Q4 2004, and a net loss of $34.5 million in Q3 2005.
For the full year 2005, Chartered reported revenues of $1.03 billion, up 10.8 percent compared to $932.1 million in 2004. Revenues including Chartered’s share of SMP were $1.13 billion, up 2.6 percent from $1.1 billion a year ago, driven by higher revenues in the consumer sector, partially offset by declines in the communications sector and to a lesser extent the computer sector.
