Acer is hoping its Napa notebook sales in Taiwan will reach 5,000 units in March, with the availability of three models, according to today’s Chinese-language Economic Daily News quoting Scott Lin, Acer’s president for Taiwan operations. Meanwhile, rival Asustek Computer plans to launch six Napa-based models after the Chinese New Year and expects its dual-core lineup to be a major sales driver for this year, indicated the paper.
The March sales goal of 5,000 Napa notebooks is expected to account for 25% of Acer’s monthly shipments in Taiwan, said Lin, anticipating that the contribution could climb to 50% in the second quarter and further to 70% in the third quarter
