Samsung Electronics said Thursday (March 2) it will join with Avaya Inc. in joint development and marketing of IP telephony products for the global market.
Under the agreement, the partners will collaborate on the delivery of enhanced IP convergence and mobility products. The solutions will combine Samsung’s mobile technologies with Avaya’s IP telephony expertise, Samsung said. Samsung said the alliance would offer customers more choices in IP-based network solutions for the voice, video and data convergence markets.
Initially, Samsung will resell Avaya's contact center and IP telephony products in South Korea.
The partnership also includes codevelopment of technologies to enhance Avaya's IP-based mobility and convergence products. The jointly-developed products will be either cobranded or individually branded, and sold through Avaya's global sales channels.
