Micron faces lawsuit on price fixing

Monday, March 6, 2006

Micron Technology face a class action lawsuit alleging price fixing. The legal firm of Schiffrin and Barroway, LLP said it had filed a class action lawsuit in federal court in Idaho on behalf of Micron securities holders between Feb. 24, 2001 and Feb. 13, 2003. A different firm filed a similar suit last month.

This most recent class action lawsuit against Micron claims that company, specifically its senior management, failed to disclose and misrepresented that the company allegedly engaged in illegal anti-competitive behavior, specifically DRAM price fixing, and that its financial results and projections were inflated as a result. The suit specifically alleges that while the company engaged in an illegal price-fixing scheme, Micron insiders sold 132,000 shares for gross proceeds of $4.5 million during the period cited in the suit.
