Samsung Electronics introduces a Q1 ultra-mobile PC. Based on a concept jointly designed by Samsung, Intel and Microsoft, Q1 will attempt to blend mobility with higher performance while providing basic PC functions, Samsung said.
Q1 weighs 779 grams (1.71 pounds) and uses touch-screen technology on a 7-inch LCD. It comes with an Intel CPU and Microsoft Windows XP Tablet OS.
It provides mobile Internet access via Bluetooth and wireless LAN connections. Applications supported include mobile digital multimedia broadcasts along with navigation and visualization systems, according to Samsung.
The system comes with a 40-Gb hard drive and 512 Mbytes of DDR2 memory. Advanced Visual Systems technology enables users to watch video, play music or view photographs without booting.
