Sony has delayed the introduction of the Playstation 3 game machine to November — or about six months later than expected, according to news reports.
Sony has delayed the introduction due to copy protection issues for its DVD player, according to the reports. Another report attributed the delay to insufficient development kits.
The company declined to comment on the delay. When Sony announced the Playstation 3 last May, the company said that the introduction would be "this spring."
Now, the introduction is due in November, which is considered a blow for the company. Sony would be a year behind Microsoft Corp., which released its Xbox 360 console in November 2005.
