Rambus Inc. today upped its expectations for Q1 revenue.
The company raised its range to $45 million to $48 million from previous expectation of $41 million to $43 million for the quarter ending March 31.
The change in prediction calls for a noteworthy sequential sales increase, as Rambus reported Q4 2005 sales of $41.6 million. Those results were up 16 percent sequentially from $36 million.
While Rambus gave no indication as to why it was increasing its guidance in its statement today, the company has recorded several big-name deals in recent weeks that may have been the driver.
The company just yesterday announced it has landed its first system-level patent license, thanks to a systems and semiconductor deal with Fujitsu Ltd. And on Friday said IBM has licensed its FlexIO processor bus and XDR memory interface technologies for use in Cell Broadband Engine processors and companion chips.
