Intel sample 65-nm Nand Flash

Tuesday, April 4, 2006 Intel claimed that it is the world’s first company to sample NOR-based, multi-level cell (MLC) flash memory chips using 65-nm process technology.

Intel’s 65-nm NOR device is a 1-gigabit part. The company’s NOR-based flash memory chips are used in devices such as cell phones to manage critical phone operations and store photos, music and videos. Samples will be available to customers late in the second quarter.

Intel’s first production of microprocessors built on 65-nm technology started in the second half of 2005.
