Intel Corp. said the demand for the second quarter may slow as customers wait for the launch of its new products in the second half of the year, an executive said.
"We are seeing a bit of a slowdown," Chief Technology Officer Justin Rattner told Reuters in an interview, saying he believed those clients with the flexibility to wait for the new, more efficient chips were doing so.
The world's biggest chipmaker, which cut its annual revenue forecast last week as it faces a growing challenge from rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., is launching a new line of more efficient microprocessors in the second half of the year.
