Infineon AG 's positive business development is continuing in the third quarter of its 2006 fiscal year, board member Peter Bauer said at the sidelines of a press conference in Munich.
He also said the company's AIM division, which Buaer is in charge of, was continuing to develop well in the third quarter of the year. The unit supplies chips to the automotive, industrial electronics and multimarket sectors.
The division's security and chipcard business operations will return to profitability in the full year, Bauer said. The unit posted a loss in the second quarter.
Bauer added that the latest data on demand and costs confirms positive development in the segment.
Infineon cut group net loss to EUR26 million in the second quarter from a EUR114 million loss in the same period the previous year, helped largely by the AIM division.
