Leading foundry chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. said that its April 206 sales were NT$27,162 million (about $865 million) 43.7 percent a above sales in the same month in 2005 and up 0.2 percent over March 2006.
April’s year-on-year growth while still strong was down on more than 50 percent growth achieved in March. The company has said it has been forced to put some companies on allocation because it could not supply demand for certain process technologies.
Revenues for January through April 2006 totaled NT$104.5 billion (about $3.33 billion), an increase of 40.1 percent over the same period of 2006.
