SanDisk Corp. showed off its 4-GB SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo card at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in the Los Angeles Convention Center on Wednesday.

The card, which can store up to 12 hours of games or 64 hours of MP3 music tracks, is geared at gamers who play on the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). Movie and film buffs can store 20 or more hours of movies and videos trailers, or 4,000 digital still images.

The 4 GB card, scheduled to ship this month, will retail for about $219.99. Other capacities in the Memory Stick PRO Duo Gaming Card line include 256 MB at $34.99, 512 MB at $44.99, 1 GB at $59.99 and 2 GB at $109.99.

The new 4GB card is red. Last year, SanDisk introduced the new gaming line of Memory Stick PRO Duo cards in semi-transparent neon colors.

The PSP uses a proprietary storage medium called Universal Media Disc (UMD) for movies and games, but UMD discs are neither recordable nor writable. SanDisk co-developed the Memory Stick PRO format with Sony.

SanDisk also demonstrated its new Sansa e200 MP3 player at the show. The slim, light-weight device aims to be an iPod killer. It comes in three storage capacities: 2 GB, 4 GB, and 6 GB at costs ranging from $199.99 to $299.99.
