Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. today announced net sales of about $832 million (26.8 billion New Taiwanese Dollars) for May, a 37.2 percent increase over May 2005 and a 1.4 percent decrease from April's sales.
The company also said that revenues for the period of January through May 2006 totaled just more than $4 billion (131 billion TWD), an increase of 39.5 percent over the same period in 2005.
TSMC's announcement comes on the heels of similarly positive May sales news from its competitor, UMC. This week UMC reported May revenue growth of 31.46 percent year-over-year and near flat results month-over-month.
