Mosaid announced the settlement of its patent litigations with Infineon.
Mosaid and Infineon have been involved in two litigations, in which Mosaid alleged that Infineon had infringed on its U.S. DRAM patents: the first in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, which is currently under appeals; and the second in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
In addition to receiving a six-year license to the entire Mosaid patent portfolio, Infineon and Qimonda will receive a "lives of the patents" license to the Mosaid patent families that had been in dispute, the company said.
In turn, Mosaid has purchased a portfolio of 50 patents from Infineon and Qimonda. The purchase includes patents related to DRAM memory, power management ICs, semiconductor process technology and digital radio applications.
