Flash maker Spansion Inc. has expanded its foundry manufacturing agreement with TSMC to include Spansion 90nm MirrorBit technology on 300mm wafers.
In doing so, the foundry will now add 90nm MirrorBit capacity to its current agreement with Spansion for 110nm MirrorBit technology, which TSMC has been producing since Q2. The target production ramp for 90nm MirrorBit technology is second half of 2007.
According to the expanded agreement, TSMC will phase Spansion's 90nm process technologies into its production lines exclusively for use in the memory maker’s products. The new capacity will supplement Spansion's internal production capabilities, including 90nm and 65nm work in Austin, and 110nm and 45nm work in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan.
