Acer expects shipments of its servers in the Taiwan market to grow 10% on year in 2006, according to Scott Lin, president of Acer's Taiwan and Hong Kong operations.
Lin also said that the shipment growth for servers will be smaller than that for desktops and notebooks due to a lack of strong demand. Currently, the server segment accounts for about 5-6% of the overall PC market, added Lin.
Sources indicated that Acer currently ships 400-500 servers in Taiwan every month with Quanta Computer and Compal Computer being its major partners
