TSMC will work with Qualcomm in producing handset chips using 45nm technology before the end of the third quarter of next year, with mixed-signal 45nm-made chips to be introduced before the end of next year, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).

Qualcomm plans to expand its partnerships with TSMC and IBM and its partners Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung Electronics and plans to sign deals for 45nm technology advancements with the makers soon, the paper said.
