Spot prices for NAND flash memories jumped due to demand in the market at the last week of September, according to Gartner Inc.
On average, NAND spot prices went up 1.7 percent during this period, compared to the previous week, standing at $2.37 on a 1-gigabit equivalent basis, according to the market research firm.
Meanwhile, during the same period, DRAMs were down, according to Gartner. DRAM spot prices fell by an average of 1 percent from the previous week, standing at $6.60 on a 512-Mbit basis, according to the firm.
"Overall spot pricing was down, particularly for DDR2 devices," according to the firm. "Some 'dumping' sales didn't lead to improved prices because of the month-end pressure and sufficient supply in the market."
