Solectron Corp. announced plans to cut 1400 jobs amid consolidation on its manufacturing operations.
The contract manufacturer will consolidate approximately 700,000-square-feet of facilities in Western Europe and North America. This will result in estimated restructuring and impairment charges in a range of $50-to-$60 million.
The company said that it estimates the restructuring actions under this plan will be completed within the next 12 months.
